i am beginning to start development on api's.

but i am not pretty sure on how to begin, ie, how to integrate, read documentation for particular methods - what to note, how to use, etc, request the api, parsing, security and the varied other things.

its a pretty noob way to ask but i want to learn and begin development.

a few things i have come to know is to create columns for the methods in doc wch i want and put them in attr_accessor. this sounds silly but really i feel lost when i look up the api's.

how am i suppose to begin. apart from getting an api key.

as a starting point i want to begin with the forecast.io api to check weather for user entered places or for such places where the weather is just displayed. in this case, while creating a place listing, i use the api to get weather for that place, store it in the column and just display it. and also, auto refresh it after a set period of time to keep it updated.

i am not asking for a script.
