We are seeking an experienced back-end web developer to join our web startup. Our main shortage in talent is back-end development, and if you are passionate about making web applications and are looking for real-world experience, we are looking for you.
We are a speed-pitch finalist startup based in St George, Utah and started by a father and son vision and partnered with an experienced sales and marketing team. We see a huge problem with the standard social networks in their failure to solve for community services. With so many autonomous apps and no real local interconnection, it is like the classical idea of community is suffering. Even worse is small businesses forced onto irrelevant technology.
We are a Community Service Media with our own Platform As A Service (PAAS). It is better than Meetup because it is free and capable of reaching a bigger market share, better than Yelp and Angies list because the ratings are from people you know, and better than intrusive data mining on every other platform because we empower the user to own their own information. Wish I could say more. Our vision is to allow the user to bank on their own data and to use that information to better connect with their community.
In summary, we have a lot up our sleeve. All our legal is complete, trademark secured, and in-house funding to stay afloat. Time to revenue is 3-5 months, break even 14 months. Full pro-forma and third party gap compliant impact study complete.
Ideal Candidate Profile
You are an experienced back-end developer not only excited to be part of a small startup with potential as a co-founding team membership, but also motivated by personal ambition and willing to put in the time need to get us up and running. You are flexible and learn quickly. You will have tremendous ownership and responsibility on development. ASAP communication will be key since we will be working remotely. So far we are a four-man team with deep experience in sales, marketing and business development (over 65 years in combined experience with the average age being 49), the entire front of the house that most tech starts struggle to achieve plus the maturity many never have for years. We are laid-back yet focused on working to build something big but with lean and agile approaches to very simple revenue models before we real start to code our own big ideas.
