We are building a large scale web-app and targeting a date which is little aggressive. We know Rails can make our life easier to achieve the timelines. However stuck with few questions, any help appreciated

  • Have one backend server - emits JSON
  • Have one frontend server - consumes JSON and prepares HTML
  • We have one auth server (SSO)

Is rails a good option for the above setup ?  Frontend is only CONTROLLER + VIEW and Backend is only CONTROLLER+MODEL.     Frontend server handles AUTH by talking to another AUTH SERVER

My gut feeling says we should not go with Rails as MVC cannot cater to SOA - might be possible with tweaks.  But then why RAILS if tweaks are required.  Please help.
