Topic: Rails event guide calendar generator gem plug-in yada yada

Hi,

I'm a beginner with Ruby (and programming generally), but I want to build an event list, much like this: http://www.songkick.com/

Essentially, you can change location and view gigs chronologically. I would also want to filter gigs by category, only showing some music genre or comedy or theatre, for example.

Each gig would have a title(band name) and a location.

Is there some Rails open-sourced project where you can generate an event list? Its basically just a vertical calendar, but on the sites I've found I can't see any. Would a Rails dev be able to point me to some other resources or websites?

I am facing some problems with my code generating system. As it is an older one and is not working properly. The feed back provided in the post is really very nice and the features of the code generator is also very effective. Are there any offers provided in these code generators?
