there are lots of software available in market. If you are beginner so you can use photoshop or corel draw. Both this software is good fro you. Through the software you can make good image fro your websites.

As per my opinion Photoshop is one of the best software to design website and website images. There are many different tools and features in it to design website images easily. To  design web site attractive than image design is important for the website.

I think if you're trying to show what your work will look like on apple products, there are a lot of great graphical resources for PSD files with editable layers that look great and make it easier to shoehorn in images of your work without messing up the rest of the image.

Premium Pixels, for example, is a great resource for these. There are numerous others a quick Google away.

My suggestion is Use either Photoshop CS5 or Coreldraw X4.These are the best ways to designing images for your website

First you have to decide what kind of design you are going to do?As you are new here you can start with photoshop. And the basic photoshop tool is pen tool that will be always required for clipping path that means removing background from any image. Wish good luck.
