Topic: redirects, SEO, HTTP Headers, and Google Analytics

How can I do an auto redirect_to to another site, and retain the HTTP header information of my site?  Users may come to our site through a bit.ly link on Twitter, and we sometimes will automatically redirect them to another site.  However, the HTTP Header info is not present, so Google Analytics doesn't register the user as coming from our site.

Is there a way to force the HTTP header info so our site is carried as the referrer?

I think this is similar to pop ups! you are forcing some traffic to your site. Not a good way if you want an organic result for your site. It's better that you work on building backlinks rather than forcing a browser to open your site.

Would forcing a refresh prior to the redirect solve that?  It will slow things down, but I think it's sort of a balancing act where you have to pick what's more important to you.  Not really sure if that would do the trick.

Let us know what you figure out!

Redirects are done incase when your site is under maintenance and you no need to annoy your visitors. At that time you can give a temporary redirect. And your site url have been changed by you. At that time you need to do a permanent redirect.

SEO is the process or practice followed to bring traffic to your website so that your ranking increases in the search engine results page.

Google analytics is a best tool that gives complete information about your site.
