Topic: problem aligning text field with a css button

Hi all,

I am making a site in ( ROR ) which at the top of the page i have a <input type="text" /> with a <a></a> that is styled into a button and is not a submit button. These are side by side but they are not aligned perfectly vertically and i have tried everything i can think of to sort it and theres no joy.

Has anyone got a idea what could be causing the issue or can it be done at all.

Sorry don't worry i have sorted it. I was using the right option which was vertical-align:middle; but i put it in the wrong class.
