Topic: Is there a social networking plugin for Rails similar to Elgg?

So bummed that Elgg is only for PHP, it has everything I need for my website. Is there something comparable other than CommunityEngine and LovdByLess? I don't have experience with those two but wasn't impressed by their demos.

Been looking for one myself. Nothing descent there in rails 3 as of today. Your best option is to make it yourself by adding various plugins/gems. Use devise for authentification. Paperclip for attachment. There are a few messaging plugins also, friendship plugins, etc. . Your other option is to stick with php and to customize Elgg if you don't mind code nightmares
