Topic: resize input text field to fill a cell

I use table in a form to set the layout of fields.  In the table the width of columns is defined in the percentage of the table.  Is there a way to set the width of the text field to fill the cell it is in?

So like have a minimum width for the text input field, and have it expand as more text is entered?

not as the text entered, as the width of the table cell hosting that input text field changed.
